How Did the Educated Become So Ignorant?

How Did the Educated Become So Ignorant?

.

At present, the United States is a house divided against itself. It is a nation falling into disarray as two groups of people--those who know our nation's history and those who don't--stare blankly into each other's eyes with no commonality of which to speak

.

I blame liberalism and our academia who are producing these mind numb robots, I call the low information crowd.

.

People like Obama and these Harward graduates who think that they are the elitists... that they need to control the masses.  They keep saying things like ... "the Republicans want you on your own", a round about way of saying 'you can't do it on your own'.  They constantly need an underclass of people to rule, .. that is why they are tripping over themselves in opening our borders.

.

Liberalism is a lie and it's a hoax..   What I see happening is that these lies are coming home to roost. Because, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.  They thought they were above tha laws that we have to live by.  When you have no integrity, than you tend to stray away from doing the right thing.

.

The low information crowd see the world as there are the 'oppressors' and there are those who are being 'oppressed'. They see Obama as representing those who have been 'oppressed' and now it's time for fairness.. They think of Obama as like a Nelson Mandela who is fighting Aparthide whites in control. .. .

.

These elitists who are in control of the masses have to keep treating them as mushrooms.  Keep them in the dark and feed them sh_ t.

It started with your buddy Reagan and his brutal attack on social spending which included education. Then that
takes us to the Bush era with his “no child left behing,” misleading title, with ill intent. As I recall Reagans legacy was to repeatedly assert that “we are not going to improve education by throwing money at it.” But apparently
our answer to improving global peace, was to throw money at the military.

Very true, the downfall started with Reagan.

I like that SUPER-IGNORANT premise, that all the universities and schools are ignorant, so
let people find things out on their own and stop at junior high school so all can be as smart as Barney.

The country is a house divided because one group thinks it has all the answers and refuses to listen to alternatives, even when the other group is willing to compromise. The political right does not have all the answers, but you can’t convince them. The only answers they have are no to anything that originates on the left, especially if it comes from the Oval Office and yes to anything that is intended to cause their President to fail, regardless of the damage done to their country. Most of us in this country realize both sides have good ideas, but the TP has a stranglehold on the right, preventing common sense and compromise from emerging from that side. I like parts of Rubio’s immigration plan. Some of it I don’t like. The point is, this is an example of something the left and right could get together on and come up with a compromise plan that could become law. The problem is, Rubio and his plan have been vilified by the TP Republicans. Other Republicans who might get on board with Rubio can’t do so, because they believe they need the support of the TP Republicans.

“The republicans want you on your own”. Well, see, you CAN interpret that as you say above OR, like most of us, it means the republicans want to keep your tax money, your payroll taxes and any other cent they can and……………buy a new jet and invade whatever country they feel like, give it to those on Wall Street or flat put it in their pocket, just as long as they don’t have to pay what you do to get by. We are on our own, but, if we ever need a helping hand, we can get it because we’ve paid for it, in advance. We may never need it, but……….the republicans would like nothing more than to make sure that helping hand wasn’t there, no, it’d be dipping into the pocket of a worker and telling them it makes them a better person to be all on your own.

If that was the case, why is your anointed one giving tax dollars to the rich CEO’s.. i.e. Solyndra , …GE …?? crony capitalism run a muck? You seem to misunderstand that the more the government takes from businesses… the more the businesses take from their customers and their employees. I wonder if you will ever wake up to that Ms. Piggy What’s wrong with you?

Because he’s a politician and wants money. I’m not retarded. I’m just telling you that the “the republicans want you to be on your own” is not propaganda, it’s true, it’s just different than what the republicans want you to believe. As is a lot of what the democrats want you to believe. They are politicians, for Gods’ sake, why on earth would you take what they say as the “be all, end all”?

Believing politicians… what? I’m the one trying to wake you up to the governments (includes both parties) encroachment on us… it falls on deaf ears because you’re 2 B Z slobbering all over Obama.

WoW! So many diverse opinions about what side of the political aisle has the right answers, about the “elites” and those known as the “low information Crowd.” Does not matter what one’s educational attainment, or the lack of, what matters is when America comes together as one! The replies here shows how this country is just broken up, we takes sides (it does not matter what side) it only creates division among all of us. This is what politics does best, they create the environment of said division and those that claim to be “educated” or “elite” take part in this divisions with replies that only shows that they can turn themselves into “low information” crowds. Politics will never be all things to everyone, those in politics only cares for themselves and will do or say whatever it takes to preserve their career at the expense of the American people. And those that think the side they are on no matter their belief, are just the type of “fools” these politicians need!
As long as there is division there will never be common ground.

    June 03, 2013
    1. livelonger

Exactly … the Tea Party demand to make the federal government smaller is to break it into the states once again, so there’s no overall common ground. Then international corporations can buy the state politicians out – or the whole state’s worth of outsourced services. We could end up with the Koch brothers and’ or Adelson completely running states.

The only ones who are nodding their heads with what Brn is saying are the ones who are jealous that they had no choice to be anything but laborers, since they could not get into ‘elitist" colleges. If it were up to Brn, this country would be unintelligent and allow government to run all over them. He forgets that the republicans were the cheerleaders when Bush got the Patriot Act and Homeland Security passed. A little fear can go a LONG way, and the Bush administration worked very hard to create fear. Look at all the people who were/are afraid of all Muslims today. That was NEVER the case before Bush, even after the first attack under Clinton. Clinton knew that the attackers were attacking not for their religion but for their anti-government views.
    .
Speaking of anti-government views, Brn… let’s see if you can draw the conclusion I am making…
